Who Will Save Their Dying Son?

Mr and Mrs. Yang cherished their son Jie.

"He was my little angel," his mother shares. “He always picked flowers for me."

Mr. Yang adds, “He'd kiss me and say, ‘Dad, you work too hard. When I grow up, I'll help you with the cattle.'"

But the Yangs didn't know if their little boy would be around that long. He had a strangulated hernia and twisted intestines.

Mrs. Yang cries, “It made it difficult for him to digest food."

Mr. Yang looked to the mountains for help.

He explains, “I said, ‘Mountain god, please protect my son. Don't let him be sick, and please bless my land so I can get YangJie surgery.'"

But the crops were bad, so as Jie got worse, the Yangs had no money to treat him. They gave him herbs and took him to the mountains with them.

Mrs. Yang says, “We thought if the mountain god saw Jie was sick, he'd be moved to help."

There was no improvement, and Jie ended up with blocked intestines and a fever of almost 106.

“His face was pale. His stomach was bulging," recalls Mrs. Yang. “Then, his eyes closed and he lost consciousness. I was afraid he'd die any minute. So, my husband rushed us to the hospital."

Mr. Yang adds, “I remembered how Jie told me he'd help me when he grew up, and my eyes filled with tears."

Doctors said Jie had peritonitis and sepsis, that had spread to his organs. He needed surgery or he would die in 48 hours. The Yangs begged the hospital to operate and let them pay later, but they refused.

“My husband and I watched our boy lying there," Mrs. Yang shares. “We would have to take him home and prepare for his funeral."

Before they left, another doctor told the couple about CBN. The Yangs contacted us, and we paid for the surgery right away.

“Now I'm not worried about losing Jie. He can eat more and he's bigger and he laughs and plays," exclaims Mrs. Yang.

Mr. Yang adds, “He's a different boy! Now, he's strong and he says, ‘Dad, I'm healthy.' His sister still worries about him, but Jie tells her, ‘Some nice strangers helped me. Don't worry about me.'"

“Thank you to the CBN donors," concludes Mrs. Yang. “Your love saved Jie's life and helped us see the light. Now we know Jesus, and He's our only God."
