Nancy stars with Corbin Bernsen in First Lady a romantic comedy. The plot: When the President dies in office, his widow, Kate (Nancy) agrees to help the bachelor VP, Taylor Danes (Benjamin Danes) in his bid for the presidency. Kate decides to run for First Lady (FLOTUS) on the ticket with VP Brooks to prevent the ditzy wife of her competitor (Tanya Christiansen) from destroying the dignity of FLOTUS. Meanwhile, Kate is unaware of a former teenage boyfriend (Corbin), now the king of a foreign nation, who comes to the White House in an effort to win her heart and present her with a much better proposal than she ever expected. This modern fairytale is about an autumn romance with a twist that will entertain the whole family.

Although this film is about the FLOTUS it is not political at all. People from both sides of the political spectrum can come together and enjoy this light-hearted movie. Nancy says she enjoyed playing Kate in this film because of the character’s strength, values, and integrity. She also likes the message of second chances which is featured in the movie because it offers hope to the audience. The film was produced by Renaissance Women Productions. First Lady is rated PG and directed, produced and written by Nina May. The release date for the film is February 14.

Nancy shares that being a person of faith in Hollywood has been challenging at times. She pays close attention to the content of the TV show or movie in which she might be cast. At times she has turned down roles based on her value system. She views Hollywood as a mission field and feels acting allows her to be an ambassador for God. Her favorite role to play is a woman who is flawed or broken and experiences a redemptive situation or faces consequences for her choices. There have been times when she went for an audition and didn’t get the part but got to minister to another actor in the process. Although it may not seem like it at times, she says, “God is alive and at work in Hollywood.”

At this stage in life, Nancy says the roles for women her age are not as plentiful so she also produces and writes. Her short film Common Threads won Best Film at 2017 California Women’s Film Festival. Currently, she is in development with a slate of TV projects and feature films. Her directing debut, Damaged Goods, a feature film in collaboration with Asbury University, will be released in 2020. She is also a speaker for women's conferences, outreach events, churches, and non-profits. Her passion is to help others grasp their true identity and worth in Christ, break free from emotional and spiritual barriers that hinder, and discover wholeness and transformation.

A native of Florida, Nancy graduated from the University of Florida and soon after was crowned Miss Florida in 1976. She went on to participate in the Miss America Pageant (1977). Nancy began her career as a public relations specialist. She also worked as a top model with the Ford Model Agency in New York and appeared in over 250 commercials before beginning her acting career.

After moving to Los Angeles in 1982 Nancy won her first regular role on the NBC medical drama series St. Elsewhere as Joan Halloran (1983) a role she played for two seasons. In 1987, Nancy was cast as Andy Griffith’s law partner on TV’s Matlock. She became known to millions as she played Michelle Thomas for 5 years in the series. Other TV shows she has been on include ABC’s Sidekicks and the NBC daytime drama The Doctors to name a few. Her 25+ episodic roles include a recurring role the last two seasons of ABC’s Scandal. Her upcoming films include Faith, Hope & Love, Love by Drowning, and TV pilot Eleanor’s Bench. Films currently streaming include Heritage Falls, Heaven Bound, and I’m Not Ashamed, the story of Rachel Joy Scott, the first student killed in the Columbine shooting. She is also featured in some Hallmark holiday favorites which include Christmas with a Capital C, Christmas for a Dollar, and Christmas Oranges.

Nancy is the author of two best-selling books: The Wonder of His Love: A Journey into the Heart of God and Beauty by the Book: Seeing Yourself as God Sees You. She has been the Host of several TV series, including Love, Marriage, and Stinking Thinking with Mark Gungor, and for ten years hosted CBS’s Main Floor, a fashion and lifestyle series that aired in over 40 countries around the world.

Off-screen Nancy serves on The Greenhouse Arts & Media Board, which develops and equips creative artists in Hollywood, Biola University Studio Task Force, a group of Hollywood professionals investing in the next generation of writers, directors, producers, actors and crew, and on Advisory Boards of The Dove Foundation and SAT-7, Christian satellite TV broadcasting in the Middle East and North Africa, reaching millions in that region in three languages on five channels.

Nancy has been married to Larry Myers since 1989. Larry is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary, has been a pastor and worship musician since 1975 when he helped establish the original Vineyard Christian Fellowship, and has helped start four other churches in the Los Angeles area.
