Love in Action: Feeding Your Hungry Neighbor

As the coronavirus pandemic continues, all of us are feeling its effects. But some families feel it more than others.

“It’s serious,” said Damariz, “people are actually starving out here. I have 5 children. We’re making it day by day, but it’s definitely a struggle.”

Operation Blessing partner Youth World in Dallas, TX set up a special distribution to help single moms like Damariz.

“No child should be closed up at home without groceries,” said Youth World Director and Founder Darla Shirley. “This is where we can help fill the need right now in our community, is help these kids have groceries in the house.”

Operation Blessing is providing the food these ministries need to keep distributions going through this unprecedented crisis.

“Thank goodness for Operation Blessing and all the help that they bring,” said Darla, “that we’re able to pack this many grocery bags for these kids.”

“They’re an angel sent from God,” said Damariz. “It’s a blessing in these times. The reality is we don’t have the money to get this kind of food.”

The food Operation Blessing partners provide is especially important in times of crisis.

“I just want to say thank you to Operation Blessing and all their partners,” said Darla. “This would not be possible without all your help. And we are so grateful to ya’.”

“To Operation Blessing, I really want to thank you guys from the deepest part of my heart and soul,” said Damariz. “You guys are like soldiers coming out to stand for the people and remind us that people still care. And I just honestly and truthfully thank you guys.”
