JINGLE JANGLE: A CHRISTMAS JOURNEY follows an inventor who has lost his motivation when his work is stolen by his apprentice and his wife passes away, but is inspired once again when his brilliant granddaughter comes to live with him. Streaming on Netflix, JINGLE JANGLE: A CHRISTMAS JOURNEY is a fun, exciting, heartfelt musical that has a strong moral, redemptive worldview stressing love, family, forgiveness, and the joy of creation and including positive references to Christmas and prayer.

Jeronicus Jangle is the best inventor in all of Cobbletown. His toy store is doing very well and he has a loving and supportive wife and daughter. All seems wonderful and Jeronicus creates a toy THAT’S a robotic man, named Don Juan Diego, who has a mind of its own.

Soon after Don Juan is created, Don Juan convinces Gustafson, Jeronicus’ apprentice, to steal Jeronicus’ book of inventions. Jeronicus is absolutely distraught. Everything he had been working to create for years and years is now gone!

Time passes and as years go by, Don Juan and Gustafson become famous in Cobbletown and are known for the best toys, because of course, they stole Jeronicus Jangle’s brilliant ideas. Meanwhile, Jeronicus has become sad and retreats from life, his wife passes away, and he convinces his daughter that she would be better off to leave him.

What Jeronicus doesn’t know, is that his daughter, Jessica, has had a daughter, Journey. Jessica decides to send Journey to Jeronicus, to build a relationship between each other. Jeronicus is almost grinch like at first and so tells Journey she needs to go home, but Journey knows the stories of her grandfather’s brilliant imagination and inventions. Journey has her own passion for inventing and soon finds a toy that isn’t working in Jeronicus’ attic. When she gets it working, Gustafson steals it too.

Will Journey be able to save the day and find the invention? Will Journey bring joy to her grandfather?

JINGLE JANGLE: A CHRISTMAS JOURNEY is a fun, enjoyable Christmas movie. The music is fun, and the dances are energetic. The movie is very well done in terms of art direction and costuming.

JINGLE JANGLE: A CHRISTMAS JOURNEY has a strong moral, redemptive worldview stressing love, family and forgiveness and including positive references to Christmas and prayer. The characters sing about Christmas many times and about moral, redemptive themes of love and forgiveness. The movie also stresses believing, but it doesn’t say exactly what or in whom to believe. JINGLE JANGLE does talk about magic, but it’s the magic of invention, imagination and the joy of creation, much like the MOVIEGUIDE® Award winning movie HUGO. Overall, JINGLE JANGLE: A CHRISTMAS JOURNEY is a good movie for families to watch during the Christmas Season. Of course, Jesus is the Real Reason for the Season, and it is He who brings the greatest joy to the whole world during Christmas, the celebration of His miraculous birth.
