CBN.com It's been a year since Amy Grant's last album, Simple Things, and now hungry fans can get a taste of the new and old with the first greatest hits collection to span her pop career. Today Word Records releases Amy's 19th project, Greatest Hits 1986-2004 featuring two new recordings, “Come Be With Me,” featuring Keb’ Mo’ and “The Water,” co-written by Grant.

Featuring Grant as executive producer, Greatest Hits 1986-2004 picks up where her platinum-selling 1987 retrospective, The Collection, left off. The album represents 15 of Grant's top hits, all digitally re-mastered.

Signed as a 15-year-old, Grant released a series of albums in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s that helped invent the Contemporary Christian genre. Innumerable first-for-a-Christian-artist landmarks followed as did her crossover pop stardom beginning with her 1986 duet with Peter Cetera “The Next Time I Fall” from his Solitude/Solitaire album. “Saved By Love” and “Lead Me On” are culled from her gold 1988 album Lead Me On, which was named the #1 record in the history of Christian music by CCM Magazine.

Greatest Hits 1986-2004 highlights her first Top 10 pop album and biggest seller at five times platinum, 1991's Heart in Motion, which yielded multiple hits such as “Baby Baby,” “Every Heartbeat,” “That’s What Love Is For,” “Good For Me,” and “I Will Remember You.” The double platinum House Of Love in 1994 contributes the title track duet with husband and country star Vince Gill, as well as “Lucky One” and Joni Mitchell’s “Big Yellow Taxi.”

After a cover of “The Things We Do For Love,” Greatest Hits 1986-2004 continues with “Takes A Little Time,” “Like I Love You” and “I Will Be Your Friend” from 1997’s gold Behind The Eyes. Appearing as well is the title track from 2003’s Simple Things.

"This project represents an amazing set of groundbreaking songs," says Word Records President Barry Landis. "Through her music, Amy paved the way for so many new artists who have a passion for making great music that goes beyond church walls."

Over the course of Grant's career, she has sold over 24 million records worldwide. Five of her songs hit #1 at mainstream radio, in addition to multiple #1 songs at Christian radio. With five Grammys and 24 Dove awards, she was nominated into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2003.

The release of Greatest Hits 1986-2004 marks the beginning of a busy fall for Grant, who is set to make numerous television appearances in support of the project including "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on October 18 and "The View" on October 21. In November, she will launch the "Simply Christmas" Tour with her husband.
