Nazareth: Following the Footsteps of Jesus

“But the crowds found out where he was going, and they followed him. He welcomed them and taught them about the Kingdom of God, and he healed those who were sick.”  - (NLT)

The childhood home of Jesus, the center of Christian pilgrimage, Nazareth holds claim to these. Nazareth is the largest city in the North District of Israel and is also home to many shrines commemorating biblical events as well.

Walk where Jesus walked with these three must see places…

CHURCH OF ST JOSEPH’S CARPENTRY

“Jacob was the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary. Mary gave birth to Jesus, who is called the Messiah.” - (NLT)

This church was traditionally the original workshop of Joseph and the Holy family. Ancient ruins from First century Nazareth still exist today.

THE MOUNT OF THE LEAP OF THE LORD (Mount of Precipice)

Not only do people visit the Mount of Precipice for the breathtaking aerial views from over 1,000 feet, but also because it is a historical site. Many believe it was the place where the people of Nazareth rejected Jesus and attempted to push him off the mountain.

"They intended to push him over the cliff, but he passed right through the crowd and went on his way.” - (NLT)

MENSA CHRISTI (JESUS’ TABLE)

And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved." - (NLT)

Down a small alley, above the church district in the old city (market) of Nazareth, you will find this church. Inside the church, a large slab of rock lay where Jesus dined with his disciples here after his resurrection. Tourists travel from all over for this unrivaled experience.
