VIRGINIA – As hurricane season officially kicks off, OBI is making sure kids and families are prepared to face one if it comes.

OBI's disaster relief teams visited elementary schools, talking to more than 450 students in two days about hurricane preparedness, such as how hurricanes form, how strong they can be, the difference between a watch and warning, and how to stay safe.

Teams also taught the kids how to make hurricane emergency kits and gave them a tour of OBI's convoy of disaster relief equipment including our crane, mobile command center and mobile kitchen.
