Dr. Brown is a realist who realizes America is sick – spiritually, morally, and culturally. He is aware that many Christians believe America is on an inevitable downward course with no chance of nation-shaking revivals, but he is not one of those believers. “As I read the Word and commune with the Lord, my heart is filled with expectation and hope, and I firmly believe the best is yet to come,” shares Dr. Brown. America needs a moral and cultural renaissance that begins with the church.  “The key to recapturing America’s greatness consists in returning to our spiritual roots,” he shares. Below are some steps to take for moral and cultural transformation:

  • Replace a culture of death with a culture of life – Hollywood and video games are obsessed with death and dying. Dr. Brown challenges you to take a thirty-day break from watching death-related media. Instead spend time reading the Word and praying. See how your perspective will change.
  • Exchange excess for self-control - Dr. Brown believes America must recapture the biblical themes of stewardship and self-control with our bodies and our finances. On August 24, 2014, Dr. Brown weighed 275 pounds despite being almost 6’3” and working out. His problem was not gluttony but that of unhealthy eating. By God’s grace and with his wife, Nancy’s help, he made a total lifestyle change. He changed his relationship with food and within eight months he lost 95 pounds and has kept it off. His blood pressure and cholesterol levels dropped and he experienced other positive changes.
  • Stop the entitlement mentality – The world does not revolve around your needs and your desires. Instead, surrender control of your life to God and focus on His purposes so you can discover your real purpose and destiny.
  • Reverse the sexual revolution – If you’re involved in an illicit relationship, break if off completely. If you struggle with online pornography, get accountability software. Fill your mind with God’s Word daily. Your desires will begin to change when you fill your mind with scriptures.

Much of the church is backslidden because it has been seduced into apathy, lethargy, and carnality by a compromised, “watered down” gospel. Yet Dr. Brown believes there is still time for change.  “This is the perfect opportunity for the church of Jesus to rise up in the truth and power of the Spirit, bringing the message of life and transformation to our sick country,” he shares. If change is going to come to our nation we must focus on three essential actions:

  1. Pray for revival in the church and for awakening in society. History is filled with the incredible stories of what God has done in preserving prayer.
  2. Give yourself to the Great Commission in the United States – win the lost and make disciples. Everyone is called to be witnesses in one way or another. You can also support those on the front lines of evangelism with your prayers and finances.
  3. Live your faith without excuse, without compromise and without hypocrisy. Christians need to get their houses in order by walking in integrity, purity, mercy, justice, truth, and faith. Dr. Brown says, “We have just what America so desperately needs, and as simple as it sounds, the greatest need in America is for the church to be the church.”

He says, “The door of opportunity remains open, and this could be our greatest hour. America can be transformed. Our nation can be redeemed. Our sin-sick land can be healed, but we must get desperate if we want to see change come, and we must continue to cry out to God and reach out to people until we see America rocked with the glory of God.”

Dr. Brown was born to a Jewish family in New York. He became a believer in Jesus 1971 as a sixteen-year old, heroin-shooting, LSD-using Jewish rock drummer. He was set free from heavy drug use through faith in Jesus-Yeshua. Since then, he has preached throughout America and around the world, bringing a message of repentance, revival, reformation, and cultural revolution. Dr. Brown has debated Jewish rabbis, agnostic professors and gay activists on radio, TV and college campuses. He is widely considered to be one of the world’s foremost Messianic Jewish apologists. As a Jewish believer, he constantly engages in debate and dialogue with his beloved people, longing for the day when all Israel will be saved. As a preacher and teacher, Dr. Brown has traveled to thirty nations on more than one hundred fifty overseas ministry trips.
