McCain Fires Back at Giuliani

01-21-2008

Here we go. You knew this was coming. John McCain's campaign team has fired back at the Giuliani campaign over taxes. Earlier, the Giuliani campaign fired the first shot saying McCain was weak on cutting taxes.

Here's Brian Rogers, McCain's Communication Director:

"It's not surprising to see the Giuliani campaign launch misleading attacks on a day when two new polls show John McCain beating Rudy Giuliani decisively in his home state of New York. John McCain has a long record of fighting for tax cuts and controlling spending. In contrast, Rudy Giuliani has a record of opposing tax relief. He actually endorsed liberal Democrat Mario Cuomo for governor because he opposed George Pataki's tax cut plans, which Giuliani said at the time were too large. He also left Mayor Bloomberg with a fiscal mess, including a budget deficit of over $2 billion. That's not fiscal responsibility."

Folks, I told you this was coming. McCain is now hitting back, but The Brody File reported last week that other campaigns would go after McCain and indeed, the free pass for McCain is over. And this isn't the end of it. Look, Giuliani has to attack McCain. If you're Giuliani's team, McCain winning Florida is your worst nightmare. And McCain better fight back or Giuliani could be set up for Tsunami Tuesday.
