The Brody File is on the ground in Columbia SC. I'll be at Barack Obama's watch party tonight. Barack Obama will be there too. But down the street at Hillary Clinton's watch party, no Hillary. She's in the state today but is bolting this evening for Tennessee.
Listen, politics is about policy, relationships, emotion and yes, the photo-op. Let's face it. If Hillary's not showing up in SC, it means that she won't have to make any sort of losing concession speech tonight in SC. The TV networks won't be given the opportunity to break in and show it…because she won't be there. Obama will of course because his camp is anticipating victory. He's leading in the polls so we'll see. John Edwards will be in town and he's been having a mini-surge lately. With race being a factor down here, it will be interesting to watch tonight how much of the white vote Obama gets and how much of that vote Edwards takes from Clinton. Also, how will the majority of black females vote? And how strong will the turnout be among black voters?
We will be keeping our eye on all of this tonight from Columbia. I'll be at Barack Obama headquarters. My colleague and producer Robin Mazyck will be at the Edwards campaign, though that could change at the last moment if we decide to go to Hillary Clinton's watch party at the last moment.
