Dying Mom’s Prayer

47-year-old Natalia had no idea that anything was wrong until the pain started.

“I hurt so much.  I could not sleep for two weeks,” said Natalia.

An x-ray revealed that a giant kidney stone, nearly 3 inches in diameter, was growing inside her left kidney.  As a widow raising 3 children, there was no extra money for surgery.

“My daughter said, 'Mom, let's go to the hospital,’ Natalia told CBN. “I said 'We're not going to the hospital.  We don't have the money.’"

Even Natalia’s 6-year-old daughter Natasha knew there was something seriously wrong with her mother. She wondered if she would die.

“I prayed when my Mom got sick. I looked at her picture and cried,” said Natasha. “I want her to stay with me.”

“I begged God to help me so my kids would not become orphans,” said Natalia

When CBN met Natalia we brought her family some food, and took her to the hospital.  There the doctor discovered that the kidney stone had destroyed her left kidney and caused her to develop a sepsis infection.

“Her body was poisined by the toxins from the infected kidney,” said the urologist.  “There was a high risk of septic shock which leads to death."

So CBN paid for Natalia to have emergency surgery to save her life.
“When I opened my eyes after the surgery I understood that I would live!” said the grateful mother.

Natalia has now completely recovered and is back taking care of her children.

“My other kidney is working fine,” she added. “I can even go back to work!  Thank you for saving my life.”

“I’m glad that Mama is here with me,” said a smiling Natasha.  “Thank you for helping her!”
