The 2017 Grammy Award nominations are in, and Hillsong Young & Free is among the artists up for the Best Contemporary Christian Music Album.

The Grammy recognition is the latest in long line of 2016 accolades for the group and the ministry that began more than 20 years ago in a small Australian church.

Hillsong United earned its first American Music Award a few weeks ago. And Hollywood producers told the story of Hillsong on the big screen earlier this year. The film Hillsong: Let Hope Rise will be released on DVD December 20, 2016.

In an interview about the film band leader Joel Houston told CBN News, "It is not about a church or about what we do with writing songs or making music or serving God. It is the story of who God is. That he uses, he loves ordinary people. He loves everybody and that He has a plan for everybody. And everybody on earth is invited into His story."

All Sons & Daughters, Crowder, Natalie Grant and Hillary Scott & The Scott Family are also nominated for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album.

Pastor Shirley Caesar, Tim Bowman Jr., Todd Dulaney, Kirk Franklin and William Murphy are in competition for Best Gospel Album.
