U.S. Loses Top 10 Spot in Economic Freedom
02-05-2016
The United States has fallen out of the top 10 countries of the world in terms of economic freedom, according to the latest Index of Economic Freedom.
The index is published each year by the Heritage Foundation. This year, the United States came in at number 11. It's worst showing ever.
When President Obama took office in 2009, the United States was number six.
Critics say the growing burden of regulations and the exploding national debt have tied down the economy.
