Washington — Pentagon officials tell CBN News it has military options for Venezuela, but when pressed what those options are, they could not say.

Col. Rob Manning, in his first day as a Pentagon Communications Director, would only say the U.S. military has "a range of options."

"Our job is to provide options to the president, so if called upon we would have a military option for the president," Manning said. "That has not occurred yet, so the short answer is, we have a range of options."

Maduro was able to gain power in a controversial election on July 30, when the opposition-led National Assembly was replaced with a new governing body filled with members of his party.
