Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, has asked the FBI to start a criminal investigation into Planned Parenthood.

The Committee released a detailed report Tuesday about Planned Parenthood's possible illegal harvesting and sale of baby body parts.

Oklahoma Senator James Lankford applauds the recommendation, calling the abortion giant "barbaric."

I am pleased that Senate Judiciary Chairman Grassley has asked the Justice Department and the FBI to do a criminal investigation into the tissue harvesting operation of Planned Parenthood," said Lankford. "The findings in this detailed report are staggering. Planned Parenthood has engaged in inhumane and barbaric procedures that are possibly illegal, and they must be held accountable.

The Committee concluded that three companies have paid affiliates of Planned Parenthood for aborted babies, and then sold their tissue to their customers.

The committee also found evidence that suggest these companies did not comply with the law.

Lankford says it is time to hold America accountable and use taxpayer dollars to support women's care without supporting abortion.

"While our nation is divided on abortion, we shouldn't force the taxes of Americans who strongly oppose organ harvesting or abortion to continue to fund an organization that carries out these inhumane practices," he said.
