CBN's own Wendy Griffith was awarded the prestigious 2015 Platinum Award for Excellence in Communication from the Christian Women in Media Association.
The association's president, Suellen Roberts, said Griffith's vast experience contributes to the Christian woman she is in the industry today.
Griffith hasn't always had it easy. She told the audience about being fired at her second TV job after being told, "You're just not cut out for this business." But she didn't give up.
"After six months I woke up and said, 'I gotta get back into TV. I am not enjoying life.' And the painful lesson I learned at 24 years of age is -- don't let one person's opinion derail your destiny," Griffith said during her acceptance speech.
