A suicide bomber killed at least 63 people at a hospital in Pakistan Monday.

Nearly 100 lawyers were at a hospital in Quetta to mourn the death of a prominent attorney who'd been shot to death earlier in the day.

Police say the bomber struck the hospital shortly after the murdered attorney's body arrived. They believe the two attacks are related.

"There are many wounded, so the death toll could rise," Reuters quoted Rehmat Saleh Baloch, the provincial health minister.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack and expressed his "deep grief and anguish over the loss of precious human lives."

"No one will be allowed to disturb the peace in the province that has been restored thanks to the countless sacrifices by the security forces, police and the people of Baluchistan," the prime minister said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Sharif is urging local authorities to stay on high alert and beef up security in the city. Quetta is located on the Afghanistan border where there are groups actively working to overthrow the government, al Qaeda, and other jihadist groups there as well.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
