Queen Elizabeth is reportedly planning to personally invite President-elect Donald Trump to England for a state visit next summer, according to the Sunday Times.

A formal invitation is expected to be made to Trump once he is sworn in as president on Jan. 20.

The meeting, which is an attempt to ensure that the U.S. and England maintain an excellent diplomatic relationship, is expected to take place in June or July of 2017.

Trump has already extended an invitation to Britain's Prime Minister Theresa May shortly after his Election Day win, The Hill reported.

"The Prime Minister and President-elect Trump agreed that the US-UK relationship was very important and very special, and that building on this would be a priority for them both," the British Embassy said of Trump's call with May.

Now England's government will look to build on that relationship as they prepare to leave the European Union.

According to the Sunday Times, England's government considers the Queen to be their "secret weapon" to keep close ties between London and Washington.
