Scarlett Johansson Stands by Israel Soda Co.

Actress Scarlett Johannson is standing by her endorsement of an Israeli soda company, despite criticism by pro-Palestinian activists.

SodaStream operates a factory in Ma'ale Adumim, an Israeli city about 20 minutes outside of Jerusalem, which some refer to the "third largest Jewish settlement in the West Bank."

Oxfam International claims the "settlements" are illegal and violate Palestinian rights. The humanitarian group say Johansson shouldn't be in business with SodaStream.

Johannson is a global ambassador for Oxfam, but she isn't backing down.

"I remain a supporter of economic cooperation and social interaction between a democratic Israel and Palestine," said Johansson. "SodaStream is a company that is not only committed to the environment but to building a bridge to peace between Israel and Palestine, supporting neighbors working alongside each other, receiving equal pay, equal benefits and equal rights."

She says economic interaction between democratic Israel and the Palestinian Authority can lead to peace.

Her ad is scheduled to air on Super Bowl Sunday.
