Fragments of EgyptAir Plane Wash Up on Israeli Shores
JERUSALEM, Israel – Fragments that appear to be from the EgyptAir passenger plane that crashed in May washed up along the Netanya shoreline, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office (PMO) reported Friday.
"Parts were collected and it appears there is a high likelihood they are pieces of the Egyptian plane," the PMO said.
EgyptAir Flight 804 crashed into the Mediterranean Sea on May 19, killing all 66 passengers and crew onboard. No terror group claimed responsibility for the downed aircraft, and investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the crash.
The PMO said Egypt and France have been informed about the fragments found along the northern coastal city's shoreline.
Netanyahu returned home Friday from an historic four-day visit to Africa.
