JERUSALEM, Israel – After four consecutive years of below average winter rainfall, Israelis welcomed a second day of rain Wednesday and news of the first snowfall on Mt. Hermon, the nation's highest mountain, in the north.

The Mt. Hermon Ski Resort near the borders with Lebanon and Syria is a popular winter destination for many families.

Israeli soldiers stationed at bases in the area also woke up to a few inches of snow, Israeli media reported.

The forecast calls for light rain countrywide over the next few days, encouraging many to continue praying for abundant winter rains this year.
