Blockbuster 'Veggie Tales' Series Wins Dove Award

The blockbuster Christian animation series called Veggie Tales has won a Dove Award.

Veggie Tales' "25 Favorite Bible Songs" won the award for children's music album of the year.

Mike Nawrocki, the actor behind "Larry the Cucumber," accepted the Dove Award at the Gospel Music Association Awards ceremony in Nashville.

In his acceptance speech, he said he looks forward to many more years of reminding kids that "God made you special, and He loves you very much."

The Veggie Tales series recently celebrated their 20th anniversary, and CBN News was given exclusive behind-the-scenes access at their production facilities.

Nawrocki told us one reason why he was inspired to help create the series.

"We felt there was a real need for stories that were told from the viewpoint of the assumption that there is a God who made us, love us and has a plan for our lives," he said.
