Benghazi Victims Speak Out: Clinton 'Deserves to be in Prison'
The parents of two Americans killed during the 2012 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi filed a wrongful death lawsuit Monday against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Larry Klayman, the Judicial Watch Attorney representing the parents of the Benghazi victims, says Clinton's careless use of a private email server while serving as secretary of state contributed to the attack. The lawsuit also accuses Clinton of defaming them in public statements.
Larry Klayman spoke with CBN News reporter Abigail Robertson on why they filed the lawsuit. Watch above.
"We're alleging that because Hillary Clinton used a private email server that was likely hacked...It gave up the location of Ambassador Chris Stevens. Now working with the ambassador were my clients' sons, Sean Smith and Ty Woods. As a result, this at a minimum negligently led to their deaths," Klayman told CBN News.
"The lawsuit is a powerful lawsuit, it's one of the few times that Mrs. Clinton has been backed up against a wall. In her individual capacity she's skated so far from justice I think this time her luck has run out," Klayman said.
Klayman says this lawsuit is not about the presidential campaign, but about justice.
"We didn't bring it to influence any election, we brought it for justice. Whether Hillary Clinton's elected president or not she deserves to be in prison," he said.
The Clinton campaign responded by offering their sympathies and pointing out Clinton had been investigated many times for her actions while secretary of state and to no avail.
"While no one can imagine the pain of the families of the brave Americans we lost at Benghazi, there have been nine different investigations into this attack and none found any evidence whatsoever of any wrongdoing on the part of Hillary Clinton," campaign spokesperson Nick Merrill said in an emailed statement.
