Fighting in Ukraine Continues Despite Peace Talks

In eastern Ukraine, fighting rages on in the outskirts of the rebel stronghold of Donetsk despite peace talks this week.
The violence comes after more than a month of relative calm. The fighting had mostly subsided after a cease-fire deal in February, but violence began again in recent days.
Ukrainian military spokesman Andriy Lysenko told a televised briefing that six troops were killed and 12 wounded during the 24-hour period. It's the highest death toll since February.
On Monday, Russians in Ukraine agreed to call for the pullback of smaller caliber weapons from the frontlines.
Since it began a year ago, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine has killed more than 6,000 people and destroyed parts of Ukraine's industrial properties.
