The three London school girls who fled to Syria via Turkey earlier this year have made contact with their families.

Shamima Begum, 15, Kadiza Sultana, 16, and Amira Abase, 15, told their families they're fine.

British television reports that one of the girls called home and the other two contacted their families online.

The girls said they have no plans to go back home anytime soon.

A senior ISIS commander who defected told Sky News she met the teens at the border in February and introduced them to their new lives.

She said they're being trained for special missions and doubted they'll ever be able to return to their families.

"I think they will die in Syria or Iraq," she said.
