An Islamic jihadist firebombed a church in Indonesia, Sunday, killing a toddler and injuring three other children, according to Indonesian police.

The incident took place on the island of Borneo in central Indonesia.

The attacker, identified as a former terror convict from the West Java town of Bogor, tossed a Molotov cocktail from a motorbike as he rode by a church located in Samarinda, the capital of Indonesia’s East Kalimantan province.

Television footage showed him wearing a black t-shirt with the words "Jihad, Way of Life."

Three children, aged 2-4, were injured in the attack. A fourth, 2-year-old Ade Intan Marbun, died after suffering burns to more than three quarters of her body.

“This case has opened our eyes that [the counterterrorism agency] BNPT needs to improve its deradicalization program,” legislator Eva Sundari said in a statement on Sunday, Time Magazine reported.

It was the second explosion at a church in Indonesia this year.
