Pray for America - Day 9
Always be prepared to make a defense to any one who calls you to account for the hope that is in you, yet do it with gentleness and reverence. —
DAY 9: "Be Prepared"
The word prepare means to make yourself ready for something that you will be doing, or that you expect to happen. We can prepare for tests at school and presentations at work, or for impending disasters, but are we prepared to be the fragrance of God by sharing our faith to a lost and dying world?
As God’s children, are we sharing the Gospel message of peace with friends, neighbors, co-workers, family, etc. who do not believe? In Romans 12, Paul encourages us not to be conformed to a world that does not know God, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. How can we best do that? Through the Word of God, our Sword of the Spirit. We must first purpose in our hearts to want a fuller knowledge, understanding and application of God’s Word to better equip us to defend our faith, especially to those who outwardly challenge it.
Pray for all of God’s people across America to make a renewed commitment to read God’s Word continuously, memorize more verses, and be obedient to living out the Word in our daily lives. Pray that we will be confident deliverers of the Truth that sets people free.
