4 Ways to Ignite Your Faith

Now that summer is in full swing, our homes are bursting with kids that generally spend their days at school; slow mornings and hours spent outside all add to the general disruption of our routines that cause our spiritual walk to take a backseat.

Be encouraged, and don’t lose hope even if your walk with Him isn’t where you want it to be. Ignite your faith as you remember that God is doing good work in you and loves you. Here are four simple ways to help light a fire in your walk with Jesus this summer:

1. Take a morning walk with God.

Fill your travel mug with your favorite morning beverage, grab your walking shoes, and spend some time with God.

2. Do a family devotional.

With kids home for the summer, this is a great time to implement a family devotional time. Check out what Superbook has to offer with Gizmo’s Bible Adventures Devotional!

3. Listen to worship music.

Music is a great way to reconnect with God! Put some worship music on while you go about your normal daily activities.

If you don’t already have a worship playlist, CBN Radio is a great place to find worship and praise music!

4. Memorize Scripture.

Committing Scripture to memory is a great way to always have God’s Word on your heart. When you have verses memorized, you can quickly bring them to your mind if you face hardships and uncertainty. You can even use them to pray to God!

Here are some recommended scriptures to memorize this summer as you ignite your faith in Jesus!

  • For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does ( NLT).
  • Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path ( NLT).
  • The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still ( NIV).
  • God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble ( NLT).
  • Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one can come to the Father except through me ( NLT).
