A Storm Left Them Homeless—You Gave Them a Home!

In the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, Danny and his family were about to lose their home in the Philippines. “The place that we live in doesn't belong to us,” explained Danny. The owner just allowed us to live here in exchange for taking care of the land.”

Danny’s family started living there after a category 5 typhoon destroyed their home, livelihood, and belongings.

“The owner then asked us to leave, so we went to Mindanao. Life was harder for us there. I couldn't find a job and there were a lot of rebels living in the area so it wasn't safe. So we asked the landowner if we could come back here,” added Danny.  “I want my family to have a house and a place where I could plant or farm so I could support my family.”

While visiting the area we also met Susan. She’s a single mom who was also displaced by the typhoon. She and her children have been live in a squatter's camp. “We have nowhere else to go,” she said. “It's difficult...it's so difficult. How can we get materials to build a new house? I'm just trying my best to look for another place where my family and I can live in,” she added with tear-filled eyes.

When we learned about Danny and Susan we built them new houses in Operation Blessing’s Community of Hope in the Philippines. We recently built houses there for eight other families as well.

“I am crying tears of joy because I am so happy!” said Danny.  “It’s because of God's grace and the help of Operation Blessing that we have a new home!  I give all glory to God, because I know He is the one who made all of this possible.

“My heart is so grateful because now, we have a home. I am so thankful!” added Susan. “God gave us a house through Operation Blessing. Lord, thank you for this house!
