Superbook Mega Giveaway for Military Families

When CBN produced 4,000 Superbook Christmas boxes to give to children in military families this year, we knew the 2020 pandemic would present challenges. But that didn’t stop us.  

CBN’s Operation Blessing and Helping the Home Front partnered with multiple organizations, chaplains, and churches to make it happen.     

Dory Nissen says, “This has been such an amazing group effort and one that helping the home front is so honored to be a part of. There are so many organizations including CBN that said we're not letting this pandemic stop us this year from getting these gifts into the hands of military children.”

CBN teamed up with the outreach Support Military Families who already had drive-throughs scheduled to giveaway gift-bags. They were thrilled to give out thousands of Superbook boxes too. Manna Church near Fort Bragg was one of several churches that gathered volunteers to staff the events. Pastor Tommy Cartwright explains why manna wanted to participate, even with the challenges of 2020.     

Tommy Cartwright says, “We just want to show god's love in a practical way. It's not just us. It's partnering with like-minded organizations like helping the home front. Through this partnership we've been able to bless so many young soldiers here at Fort Bragg areas.”    

Volunteer Anne Marie says, I love serving the fellow military spouses in my community. It’s an amazing opportunity to give back. And also, to just bless these spouses that really sacrifice so much.”

And every military family was grateful for their Superbook box.

One spouse says, “My kids are really excited in the backseat. They can't wait to get home and see what's inside it. They love their little Christmas goodies.” 

Another mom says, “Thank you so much. I appreciate it. I’m thankful for the community. Especially supporting the military families during Covid. It helps our family a lot.”

A third spouse explains, “This is so amazing that you guys are doing this. I’m just letting you know how much this means to me in my family. You are going to make me cry.”
