Nichole Nordeman's 'Slow Down' Is Giving Us All The Feels Just in Time For Mother's Day

Being a parent is quite an experience. I am blessed to have a 15-year-old son and an 8-year-old daughter. They are both their daddy's biggest teachers. They have also accelerated my life clock.

One minute your child is a little bundle of joy - one that you hoped, prayed and dreamed about. Before you know it that little bundle of joy can walk, ride a bike, etc. I just watched my little one shed the training wheels as she rode around the neighborhood, leaving daddy out of breath and running to catch up.

I think that is why the song "Slow Down" resonates with so many. The song, by award-winning artist Nichole Nordeman, went viral after she posted it just one week ago.

"I feel like I spend my life trying to slow time," Nordeman wrote on her Facebook page.

The post continued, "Trying to celebrate the growth and the milestones of my children, and then secretly daydreaming about building a time machine in my garage, so I can return to rocking my babies at midnight."

In another Facebook post she explained that she wrote the song last year just before her son's 5th grade graduation.

"I had a meltdown because my children are growing up too quickly. I sat down at my piano and wrote a song about it, through oceans of tears. I guess I'm not alone," Nordeman wrote in the post.

Nordeman is currently on the 'Live Life Together Tour' with Amy Grant.  Her song "Slow Down" is available on iTunes.
