Today the top four leaders of Congress will join President Biden at the White House for a high-stakes meeting on raising the debt ceiling. Congressional Republicans are deeply divided with Biden on the debt ceiling issue as the U.S. inches closer to running out of money to pay its bills.

Perhaps more than any other 2024 presidential candidate so far, Nikki Haley is actively engaging with the evangelical community. Her campaign kickoff began with a prayer from megachurch pastor John Hagee, and a couple of weeks ago she gave a high-profile pro-life speech at the Susan B. Anthony List. CBN News spoke with her after her commencement address at Regent University this past weekend and she made clear why she’s putting faith at the forefront.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) raised more than a few eyebrows and riled atheist activists after a February address during which he took aim at the separation of church and state and seemingly blamed the absence of school prayer for violence.

With parents across the country concerned about the impact of social media on young children, a bipartisan group of senators – two Democrats and two Republicans – drafted a bill they say represents millions of American parents who believe social media companies have too much negative influence on teens and younger children.

The field of aspiring GOP presidential candidates is growing by the day. Former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson announced his candidacy last week and he certainly has the resume: a former governor, U.S. Congressman, and top posts in border security and drug enforcement in the George W. Bush administration.

Lawmakers on Capitol Hill have been urged to join the "Jesus Revolution." The hit movie had a special screening in Washington, D.C., complete with a Q+A with two of the people the movie was based on.

The House of Representatives passed a bill late Wednesday afternoon that would raise the nation's debt ceiling. It would also address excessive spending by the government. President Biden has already promised to veto the plan. But the move does set the stage for a showdown, pushing Senate Democrats and Biden to sit down and negotiate with Republicans.

It’s not often in our fractured political culture we see people from opposing camps openly defend one another. Yet, the Supreme Court — arguably one of the most scrutinized facets of government today — continues to show people how to disagree and still respect one another.
