Let Forty Million Flowers Bloom

China's horticultural Olympic preparations haven't received the same levels of publicity as the security measures or even manners campaigns, but countries worldwide have sent some floral gifts to China.

The Beijing Botanical Gardens' international flower show, which you can see from CCTV's report, showcases symbolic flowers from more than 205 countries, like Greece, South Africa, Australia, and even France.

These aren't the only lovely flowers to grace the city; As of July 15, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Parks and Forestry will have planted over forty million potted flowers throughout the city.  The city even has a reserve of 1.2 million "emergency plotted flowers," which will later be sold as special "Olympic Flowers" if they're not needed.

Even Shanghai's People's Square has an Olympic flare, with a new arrangement consisting of 80,000 potted flowers.

While this additional plant life could be considered a component of the "Green Olympics," it's also providing a more vibrant, colorful atmosphere.
