Growing a Green China

When it comes to environmental challenges, no country has a greater task ahead of it than China.  It's home to sixteen of the world's twenty most polluted cities, and only one percent of China's 560 million city-dwellers breathe air that would be considered safe by Europen standards.

Despite these obstacles, however, Beijing has done a commendable job in terms of cleaning the city for the Olympics.  Every single person I've talked to from Beijing has mentioned how the air is substantially better than it was in past years, and from my personal experience I would agree.

The remaining challenge is how China can continue this environmental momentum.  As you can see from the video, people are confident that many of the improvements will continue, and they're willing to do their part to make the country a cleaner place.
