An Up Close Look at Hamas Tactics

The Israeli military is maintaining a blog that gives regular updates on Operation Cast Lead in Gaza. One recent entry provides a fascinating look at what Israeli troops are encountering as they confront Hamas strongholds in Gaza. Also note that tomorrow is a pivotal day in the Hamas-Fatah power struggle that continues to unfold in the Palestinian territories, as Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas's term expires. Hamas has already said it does not support an extension of Abbas's tenure. Abbas--who has no power in Hamas-ruled Gaza, but whom the West has invested so much in--fully plans to stay on. Stay tuned.
