But that life is behind him.
Studio 5 discovered a softer side to the actor, who spoke to CBN's Efrem Graham about his new dating show "Driven to Love." It premieres on We TV Friday, April 1 at 10 p.m. EST.
Ray J has personally found love and is engaged to be married. He joked during the Studio 5 interview "whoever thought Ray J would get it right?"
He is now hoping to follow in the footsteps of his parents, who have been happily married for more than 36 years and have successfully raised two child stars in Hollywood.
The one-time bad boy has also stopped drinking alcohol. Ray J credits his personal relationship with God for his lifestyle change -- and admitted he spends a lot of time talking to Him.
