Malia and Sasha Obama are off to school. God bless them! Seriously!

Putting politics aside, Malia and Sasha sure could use our prayers. (see the end of this blog for that) Some may think they have a charmed life because their father is President and they go to the uppity Sidwell Friends School. But dial it back a moment folks. Imagine if you just moved to a new city in the middle of the school year. These two young girls would be just like your children in that they will be adjusting to a new school and have those all too famous stomach jitters. They will be living in a fishbowl to a certain extent so the challenge for the Obama’s is to make life as normal as possible. No small challenge but you get the sense from Michelle Obama that she’s going to make it happen. You can be sure they’ll be making their beds, doing chores and yes, “scooping the poop” when necessary.
On a side note, because they have small children and are in the thick of it as parents, the Obama’s really have an opportunity here to focus on family related issues when it comes to public policy. How about a responsible fatherhood initiative or a program focusing in on watching less television and video games and concentrating on more reading?

Dear Heavenly Father,
I come to you in the name of Jesus Christ, Our Savior. Thank you Lord for sending your son to die on the cross for our sins.
Lord, I ask that you send your Angels to form a hedge of protection around Michelle, Malia and Sasha Obama. Protect them O Lord from all harm and danger. Give them the strength to endure the changes that they are about to go through and the wisdom to look to Jesus for that strength.
Lord I ask you to guide Malia and Shasha because they will not only endure some major changes but some dangers as well. Be with them as they go to a new school and new environments
Father throughout your Word you speak of the institute of family - father, mother and children. Protect this family unit in your Holy name. I pray in Jesus name that this godly family will restored to our nature the standards you have set in a family.
Bless Michelle and give her the strength she will need for her family and the nation. Cover her mother as she joins them.
Renew their knowledge of you and their faith in you through the Holy Scripture. Strengthen the nation and give it wisdom to pray for this family.
These things we ask in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
