From Fetus to President

02-12-2009

Some of you may have seen this video but The Brody File never assumes everybody has seen something. So for those of you who haven’t I want to share with you this pretty compelling pro-life ad that focuses on Barack Obama.

Many of you may have heard that NBC rejected this ad for their Super Bowl broadcast but have you actually seen the ad that never aired?

By the way, Black Entertainment Television did run this pro-life ad. The Fidelis Center for Law and Policy is the group behind this effort. A spokesman had this to say about the ad:

“Obviously the first African- American sworn in as president is a historic moment…We wanted to use that historic moment to witness to life.”

The group says the message of the ad is that abortion is the opposite of hope. The folks at Fidelis plan to continue this pro-life ad campaign. The series of ads is part of a campaign called: Life: Imagine the possibilities.

I must say I found the ad very powerful. If you have no idea going in that it is about President Obama then it really is even more powerful.

Had you actually seen this ad before? What do you think of it?

Pro-life groups will not let the abortion issue go. Moderate Evangelical groups want to have a discussion about reducing abortions in this country. Will the President engage? He has asked his Faith Council to provide him recommendations on this issue but will it go to the next level? What will he do with those recommendations? Is he willing to spend political capital on this?
