Brody File Video Exclusive: Ted Cruz Tells South Carolina Pastors: You Can Change The Outcome Of The Primary And Direction Of America
Speaking to South Carolina pastors in a private setting, GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruz tells them that they have the power to direct the outcome of the South Carolina Primary just eight days from now. “Without exaggeration, I believe the men and women in this room, in the circle of influence you have, in the people that listen and trust your wisdom, your guidance, your counsel, the men and women in this room have the ability to change the outcome of the South Carolina Primary and in doing that change the outcome of the presidential election and in doing that change the outcome, the direction of this country, either to continue us on this same path or to fundamentally bring us back to the free market principles, to the constitutional liberties, to the Judeo-Christian values that built this nation.”
The Brody File had exclusive access inside what is known as a, “Pastors and Pews” event organized by the American Renewal Project. Hundreds of pastors and their wives were on hand to hear Cruz speak. This took place Thursday afternoon in Spartanburg South Carolina. It was NOT on his public scheduele. The event is aimed at getting pastors to mobilize their Christian congregations to make sure their congregants are actively voted biblical values. Cruz has done these type of events multiple times over the years.Rubio has spoken once.
During his hour with the pastors, Cruz spoke about three main issues: life, marriage and religious liberty and laid out his record on each of them. He was greeted warmly with multiple standing ovations. After he finished, the pastors gathered around and prayed for him. A couple more clips from the meeting will be released later along with clips from our one-on-one interview with Cruz that took place after the event.
Cruz mobilized the evangelical community in Iowa and look what happened. Now, he’ll need the same type of effort in South Carolina where 60% of evangelical Christians make up the GOP Primary electorate. A higher than normal turnout puts Cruz in a great position to win South Carolina and with the southern SEC Primary contests that follow, there is a clear path to the nomination. Yes, there’s a guy named Donald Trump in the way but Cruz is counting on evangelicals sifting through the body of evidence before coming to what he hopes is a logical conclusion.
