Brody File Exclusive: Cruz Delegate Manager Says Donald Trump Is "the biggest whiner in American political history"

Ken Cuccinelli, the man who runs Ted Cruz’s delegate operation tells The Brody File that Donald Trump is, “the biggest whiner in American political history…because he’s getting outworked and getting his butt whipped in all these contests.” Strong words. Watch the video and transcription below.

The Brody File crew did this interview with Cuccinelli Wednesday at Cruz’s national campaign headquarters in Houston.

Does Cuccinelli have a point? Well, Cruz supporters will call Trump a whiner. Trump supporters will say their guy is seeking fairness. Here’s the factual reality: Cruz is getting beat at the ballot box and Trump is getting beat on the ground with the insider delegate game. The problem for the Cruz campaign is that even though delegates actually select the nominee, a majority of voters (according to polls) think the guy who gets the most votes (or delegates) should win. That’s not how the rules are set up. You need a majority, not a plurality of the delegates. Still, this fight plays out well for Trump because he has public opinion on his side, even if those are not the rules.

David Brody: "When you hear Trump talk about rigged, and crooked and all of this your reaction is what?”

Ken Cuccinelli: "Well, hypocrite, whiner. In Missouri, he got 382,000 votes and 37 delegates. We got 380,000 votes and 15 delegates and we didn’t moan and whine about it but I will tell you what, we’re going to show up in those eight Missouri congressional districts this weekend and we’re going to make a run at all 24 delegates. We may not get to all 24 but we’re not giving up on Missouri. All they did was pay the vice-chairman of the party to hire her to try to perform for them. She has not but their typical solution is to spread some money around and then to moan about it. He’s the biggest whiner in American political history as best I can tell, and that’s simply because he’s getting outworked and getting his butt whipped in all these contests."
