Mitch McConnell To Brody File: GOP Will Be Able To Constrain Donald Trump

06-02-2016

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell tells The Brody File that Donald Trump will be able to be "constrained" by the GOP. Watch him talk to The Brody File in our DC Bureau on Thursday.

David Brody: “Between him being a wild card in terms of what to expect or a reliable conservative where does he fall in the spectrum?

Mitch McConnell: “I think he’s going to have to be pretty reliably conservative because the whole apparatus of the Republican Party is right of center. He’s not going to reinvent what I think. I’m sure he’s not going to reinvent what Paul Ryan thinks either or most of our members. So I think he will be constrained by the nature of the party that is going to back him for president. And with regard with these sort of gratuitous attacks on (republican) allies, I think he ought to just simply stop it.”

Our interview was done Thursday morning in our CBN DC Bureau. More clips from the interview coming soon. The Majority Leader is out with his new book, The Long Game," this week. We'll have more on that on Friday.
