In an interview with The Brody File backstage at the Faith and Freedom’s Road To Majority Conference in DC on Friday, Donald Trump says America is a Judeo-Christian nation. “That’s the way it is,” Trump exclaims. As for toning it down a notch or two, Trump says, “I want to keep doing what we’re doing.”

Here’s a partial transcription of the interview:
David Brody: “The word on the street among evangelicals, they want you to tone down the rhetoric, everybody talks about you being more presidential forget that, but they want you from that moral perspective to kind of tone it down. How do you feel about that?”
Donald Trump- “Well you have to be who you are, and I’ve gotten the largest number of votes in the history of Republican politics, by far, and so I want to keep doing what we’re doing but if you ask me to tone it down I’ll tone it down.”
David Brody- “You mention the founding of this country in the speech. There are a lot of folks in this country that push back and say we are not a Judeo-Christian nation…do you believe this is a Judeo-Christian nation?”
Donald Trump: “Well that’s the way it is, and we want freedom for everybody, and we want good things for everybody but everybody has to be cognizant of the fact that we need a safe country and that’s why I talk about radical Islam and terrorism. You know it’s a problem, you look at what’s going on in France today where they may cancel a big soccer tournament, you know it’s a major tournament because they don’t know if they have enough security to handle a potential threat; I guess threats have been made, and you look at whether it’s San Bernardino or Paris or all of these things or the World Trade Center, so we have to be smart, and we have to be vigilant and we have no choice.”
