The 2016 GOP presidential candidate list is long. It includes Rand Paul, Ted cruz, Marco Rubio, Bobby Jindal, Chris Christie, Mike Huckabee, Scott Walker, Jeb Bush, Mike Pence, Rick Santorum, Ben Carson, Rick Perry, Paul Ryan, etc. Whew. That was exhausting. I have carpel tunnel!

There’s no way to accurately predict who will win the nomination. Heck, it’s hard enough to predict who will actually run. But here’s a little food for thought. Five guys stick out to me as candidates who could get through to the nomination.

Mike Huckabee is an ‘aw shucks’ type of guy who would be able to weave a conservative message in a compassionate way. Just recently he called President Obama’s immigration policy a “Minnie Pearl” philosophy of, “Y’all come!”  Wisconsin governor Scott Walker has a solid record as governor and is a blue collar type guy who could win a lot of votes. Marco Rubio is a strong candidate and The Brody File is not convinced that immigration will be his undoing. Bobby Jindal is a guy to watch out for. He’s so smart and bursting at the seam with ideas that he’ll be refreshing. And also don’t forget about Rick Santorum. This would not be his first rodeo and he has a blue collar theme that plays well in key swing states.

Sure, other candidates could emerge. There’s plenty of time but right now, The Brody File thinks the five just mentioned above may just have the best shot.
