Don’t faint when I say this. Just in case, you may want to grab the smelling salts. Here goes: If Evangelical Christians want to be more effective at spreading the gospel, they should take a lesson from Donald Trump. Did you faint yet? No? Great. Read on.
You see folks, Trump is bold. Trump doesn’t hold back. Trump doesn’t care about political correctness and sure doesn’t worry about offending people if he believes he’s correct on an issue. Guess what evangelicals? We should approach our main issue the same way. Our issue is not political, it’s spiritual. Our issue centers on telling everyone about the saving power of Jesus Christ. In the Bible, Jesus’s Great Commission commands us to do the following:
“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Folks, we are to share Jesus with people so they have the opportunity to be saved and go to Heaven. Should we do this timidly? Should we do this fearfully? No! We need to be bold (like Donald Trump). We need to not hold back (like Donald Trump). We need to not care so much about political correctness (like Donald Trump) and instead care more about the good news of the gospel. We need to not worry so much about offending people (like Donald Trump). Does it mean we shove the gospel in people’s faces in a rude, mean way? Of course not. That wouldn’t be very Christian of us. However, just like Trump, we need to proclaim the truth and not be shy about it!
