LOS ANGELES -- The annual Grammy Awards was notable this year for its rousing performances by several gospel artists. But big celebrations of faith aren't limited to those who record Christian music full time.

R&B artist Anthony Hamilton often sings of God, prayer and heaven. Studio 5 caught up with the busy father of six boys on the red carpet of the 25th annual Movie Guide Awards, which honors inspirational entertainment.

"Not only am I a father, I want to show some integrity, show integrity for my community, and my people -- and then come out and celebrate other people who have like minds and like spirits. It is very important," Hamilton said.

Hamilton's heart for God shined on stage at the awards show when he took the stage to singing his Grammy-nominated single with the queen of gospel music, Pastor Shirley Caesar.

Hamilton shared some of the life experiences that pushed him to rely upon his longtime faith.

"I have had some series of events in my life, been adopted. I know my parents but life had its way," he said. "Without faith, I would have given up. God knows where I would be now. Definitely wouldn't be on this red carpet."
