In an exclusive interview with The Brody File at his golf course in Southern California, GOP Presidential Candidate Donald Trump says he understands that his insults to candidates may rub evangelicals the wrong way.

"I can understand it a hundred percent but you know I am a certain type of person," Trump tells me. "I've dealt with very tough hombres and very tough people and I've come out on top and I can understand the evangelicals to a certain extent saying, 'Well maybe he's not as nice as we want him to be,' but they also want to see the country be great."

The Brody File spent Tuesday afternoon with the GOP Frontrunner at Trump National Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes California. We did part of the interview inside the beautiful clubhouse. The other part of the interview took place outside on the 18th hole.

Some clips from that part of the venue will move soon. During the interview, Trump went with the suit and "Make America Great Again" hat. It's become his laid-back campaign-style look.

We talked about everything: faith, God, insults, the Bible, forgiveness, politics, Supreme Court Justices, Kim Davis and the list goes on. Stay tuned here to The Brody File for more clips.

The Brody File television report on the Trump interview airs Wednesday morning across the country on The 700 Club. Also, next week, we'll have an in-depth report on more of our faith discussion.

Trump's no-nonsense anti-establishment campaign is resonating with evangelicals. The polls bear that out. Can he sustain it? The trick for Trump will be to stay bold but get a bit softer around the edges so he becomes more palatable to evangelicals that will entertain the thought of voting for him as long as he doesn’t go too overboard.

David Brody: The word on the evangelical street is there are evangelicals that are really interested in voting for you, but they want you to tone down the insults a little bit. They think that they can get there to vote for you if you could tone it down a little.  Do you see that criticism at all?

Donald Trump: I do and I can understand it a hundred percent but you know I am a certain type of person.

The truth is that I have had an amazing life, I've built an amazing company, a tremendously valuable company and that's the kind of thinking, it's the kind of power that the country needs to put it back into shape.

I've dealt with very tough hombres and very tough people and I've come out on top and I can understand the evangelicals to a certain extent saying, 'Well, maybe he's not as nice as we want him to be,' but they also want to see the country be great.
