Children's Outreach
CBN is dedicated to bringing the Word of God and the message of salvation to children throughout the world through programs and initiatives such as Superbook, a captivating 3D-animated series of Bible stories that include home and school teaching materials and interactive online experiences.
The Need
- Research by George Barna and the Barna Institute of over 1,000 adults in May 2001 puts the probability at a person accepting Christ as their Savior at 32% for children between 5 and 13 years old, 4% for children between 14 and 18, and for people 19 years and older.
- The rate of biblical illiteracy among children and adults continues to grow. According to a recent study conducted in the United Kingdom, nearly a quarter of children had never read, seen, or heard of Noah’s Ark or Adam and Eve.
- The study also revealed that more than a third of youngsters questioned did not identify David and Goliath or the Good Samaritan as Bible stories.
- Most importantly, the study showed that a quarter of all children had never heard of the Nativity and more than 40% had never heard of the crucifixion.
What We Have Accomplished Together
To date, millions of children have made the decision to follow Christ as a result of Superbook and other CBN programming.
- CBN now has one or more complete seasons of Superbook in 57 languages and dialects, with another five in progress. Superbook Academy is in 21 languages and dialects and The Salvation Poem in 75.
- In Croatia during the pandemic lockdown, CBN released one episode of Superbook per day for 26 consecutive days on YouTube Live, with Family Discussion Guides and other materials available online. Many parents responded, reporting that their children—and adults as well— “are glued to Superbook.”
- CBN completed Superbook in the Bangla dialect of Muslim-majority Bangladesh. Viewers can watch it on YouTube and in the Superbook Bible App and visit its Facebook page.
- Last year, Superbook’s Latin America YouTube channels reached hundreds of thousands of young hearts with stories from the Bible, with the Spanish-language Superlibro channel reaching over 580,000 subscribers and the Superbook Brasil channel reaching over 470,000 subscribers.
- The Superbook Bible App, with over 8.2 million downloads, is reaching kids around the world with a media-rich experience that brings the Bible to life through videos, games and activities.
With your generosity, these programs bring hope and relief to those in need, as an expression of God's unfailing love.
