Ready for Adventure: CBN.com Heads to the "Dawn Treader" Premiere

"Where sky and water meet,
Where the waves grow sweet,
Doubt not, Reepicheep,
To find all you seek, There is the utter East.”

- Reepicheep,
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

C.S. Lewis’ epic masterpiece, The Chronicles of Narnia, is a beloved series that has been read by more than 100 million. This December, the third film in the chronicles, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, releases in theaters. In the film, we’ll hear the brave little mouse, Reepicheep, sing this melody about “the utter East”, Aslan’s country. A representation of Jesus Christ, Aslan, the Great Lion, is Narnia’s ruler and the Pevensie children’s guide into the magical world. Reepicheep’s constant hopeful faith in seeing Aslan’s land, Heaven, is one of the stories main hooks for this Narnia fan.

The spiritual connection the story has with God’s Word is unmistakable. Lewis, an atheist, turned theologian/famous writer, penned these stories for children. But the impact they continue to have on all ages is astounding. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader encompasses so many faith lessons, which I’ll get into more in this blog and upcoming articles posted on CBN.com.

Just as the children, Lucy and Edmund Pevensie, and their complaining cousin Eustace, journey to Narnia, I will jump on a plane tomorrow for their home country, England. There I will be part of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader movie premiere events. This blog will document the adventures I encounter on my voyage into Lewis’ Dawn Treader story. After watching the film at the official premiere, I will get a chance to talk with the cast (interviews and a full review of the film will be posted upon my return to the States. So stay tuned!).

If you’re a Lewis reader, Chronicles of Narnia fan, or just enjoy watching movies with a faith-filled message, then come back to this blog, as I will be updating it with the latest from London this week.
