Russell Crowe Starring as Bible Patriarch, Noah

Continuing our coverage of the making of Darren Aronofsky's new movie about Noah and the Great Flood, we're bringing you the first glimpse of actor Russell Crowe as the Old Testament Patriarch.

As we've previously reported, the Black Swan director is making a feature length film based on the biblical account of Noah, with Crowe in the lead role, Academy Award winners Sir Anthony Hopkins as Methuselah, Noah's grandfather, and Jennifer Connelly as Noah's wife, Naameh.

Crowe is no stranger to epic films. He's most widely known for such roles as Maximus in Gladiator (2000), Robin Longstride in Robin Hood (2010) and Capt. Jack Aubrey in Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003). With this seasoned actor and Aronofsky at the helm, Noah is poised to be a film to watch.

Noah is scheduled to hit theaters worldwide in March 2014.

And in case you missed it, we recently brought you news about the detailed work been done to craft Noah's ark for this film's production. (Check out this photo of the building of the ark's replica.)
