No Peace Conference...So there!

Wow.  Is anyone else following the saga out of South Africa over this soccer (football) peace conference?

Yesterday, I wrote on this blog about how SA has barred the Dalai Lama from coming to said peace conference, fearing the Chinese would get upset.

Now, the peace conference has been "postponed indefinitely"...because the organizers were worried about the conflict arising out of the Dalai Lama's absence.  I suppose the organizing committee holds to the "peace at all costs" philosophy.

This whole situation is sad.  It's too bad the South African government is so intimidated by the Chinese.  And even sadder that a conference that may have led to more ideas on how to bring about peace around the world through soccer...has been cancelled.
